She loved books and believed education was the key to freedom. Liz bore the many experiences of her long life, both happy and sad, with all the dignity of one whose life was grounded in her Catholic faith. Liz is also survived by her two beloved granddaughters, Eilish Marie McMenamin of Dublin, Ireland, and Aura Mairead McMenamin of Dublin, Ireland. Twice married and twice widowed, Liz was a most loyal and loving wife and devoted mother to her children: Elizabeth McMenamin of San Diego, Edward McMenamin of Dublin, Ireland, Maggie McMenamin of North Charleston, Mary McMenamin of Columbia, Neal Michael McMenamin (deceased) and Ann Patricia McMenamin (deceased), her daughter-in-law Leticia Nava McMenamin of Dublin, and son-in-law Stephen A. She taught fifth grade English at Memminger Elementary, Nativity School, and Blessed Sacrament, where she very much enjoyed the camaraderie of her coworkers as well as a sincere love for all the students she taught over the years.
